crop protection

The aims of eChem.

When eChem started, the Australian crop protection market was undergoing considerable change. Many products were affected by patent expiry and as a result multi-national companies experienced declining profits.

Mergers of multi national companies dramatically reduced the number of competitors in the market. However declining profit margins made them lose interest in selling some of the generics that were essential to profitable farming.

eChem was established with three main aims:

  1. To provide farmers with quality products at fair prices by providing sustainable levels of competition.
  2. To ensure continued availability to farmers of generic products essential to profitable production.
  3. To lower the cost of doing business for resellers by providing a flexible, responsive and uncomplicated alternative to multi national manufacturers.
